Persimmons sold at the street market in the late fall of the year.

Pictured is a mechanical 'threshing' operation.  The yet to be hulled rice is transferred into the straw bags. Later, in a milling operation the chaff is removed from the grains of rice.  One of the many uses of chaff is to pack apples in crates for market.
